Color Throwdown & The New Challenge {Hello}

Good day crafty friends! As mentioned in my last post, I fell down my icy front steps yesterday morning on my way to my car. Today I am feeling it. I was shocked at how stiff and sore I am today! Not to mention the many big bruises that are popping up! I am OK but really achy as expected! Thank you so much for your kind words yesterday. I appreciated all the thoughtful comments.

Yesterday I also shared a card and gift bag set I made with the Zoo Babies Stampin' Up stamp set. I have had that set since the Fall and it is amazing to me that I have only inked it twice. My new mission as a blogger and crafter is to use ALL the many supplies I have hoarded collected over the years! It is craziness.

So I got to work and pulled out the Stampin' Up set called Fabulous Florets. I remember when I just HAD to have this set! I dusted it off and stamped the floret in black and fussy cut it out and then stamped the flowers in Memento Black Ink and cut them out. Then I coloured the flowers with my Copic Markers in Yellow & Deep Orange. I used this colours from the Color Throwdown and my sketch that I shared yesterday at The New Challenge. This time I scored the lines using my scorpal...easy peasy!

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Fabulous Florets
Inks: Memento Black & Copics
Papers: Black & White
Extras: Snips, Scorpal

The Challenge & I Slipped!

Happy Tuesday! Today was a SLIPPERY day and I had to go to work. We had a HUGE snowfall not typical of the area and today the snow and streets were like a sheet of ICE! Off I went to work and on my way out to my car this morning, I slipped on the top stair in front of my house and went zooooom to the bottom of the staircase. Wow. Talk about PAIN. I have a huge goose-egg on my left leg and a large welt across the middle of my back. Not a great start to my day! Argh! LOL!

Last night I managed to get crafty and created a simple gift set from the adorable Zoo Babies Stampin' Up stamp set I purchased in the Fall! LOVE how it stamps!!! It is pure cuteness! I used the fun colours over at Dynamic Duos...love them!

I got to thinking about the sketch I used to create the card and I realized how simple it was and that it could be interpreted in MANY different ways.

So here's THE CHALLENGE...

How would YOU use this sketch?
Layers?
Stamps?
Embossing?

Why not try it out and link it up? I would love to see what you create with the sketch. Have fun with it...make it your own and do not worry about measurements. I can't wait to come and see what you make! All stamping product is welcome.

Merry Monday #97 {Holly Jolly Christmas}

Monday is here and that means a brand new week at Merry Monday! This week it is my turn to choose the challenge and I went with a Aqua, Silver & White colour combo that I hope you will enjoy using. If you do not have silver, please feel free to use gray in its place! After all, it is all about getting your Christmas cards done!

I EMBOSSED! Yes, me!!! And I love the shine I achieved on my card. I hope you do too! I used the gorgeous ornament stamp set and die from Stampin' Up. I have wanted this set for such a long time and so I purchased it in December. I had only really used the dies up until now; it was nice to get the stamps inky! The sentiment comes from an old Stampin' Up set that is now retired. And yes, the sentiment is crooked!

Here is the challenge graphic! Come and join us at Merry Monday!

Paper Players, Colour Me & The Card Concept {So Kind of You}

Playing along with a few challenges. A quick and simple card...perfect for my stash. I was going through my craftroom this weekend and managed to get a lot of it reorganized. I always find that when I do that, I am more apt to craft! And craft I did. I managed to get quite a few of my design team projects done for SRM Stickers and then spent today playing along for fun. I just adored Jaydee's great sketch!

{Supplies Used}
Stamps: Stampin' Up Sentiment Set
Inks: Black
Papers: DSP from my stash-scraps!!
Extras: Flower Punches, Crimper

TAWS {hello there} & Paper Issues {Colouring}

I was excited to play along with the current TAWS-BIC Challenge. The inspiration photo got me thinking Pinwheels and so I went in search of my Tiny Treasures stamp set. I inked up the Pinwheels from the Tiny Treasures set with my copics and used the photo frame from the Framed Set. The sentiment comes from the cute floral set called Petal Pushers.

I kept my card pretty clean and simple. I am also playing along with the ladies over at Paper Issues-Colour by Number.

Happy Birthday to You {A Joy Fold Card}

I love this new stamp set from called Another Great Year by Stampin' Up. I borrowed it from a friend and I am using it tomorrow for a card class I am having. Of course, it has started to snow HARD and now I am even wondering if the class will take place at all. Sigh. But the snow is sure pretty!

This card is a Joy Fold card and you can see the instructions on how to make it over at Splitcoast Stampers! I changed the dimension of the top card layer from 3" x 8" to 5" x 10" to properly fit the large birthday sentiment.

I completed the inside with the sweet sentiment and kept it pretty simple. You know how much I love to make a matching container of some sort to go with my card and so I made a little teabag or chocolate holder. My friend showed me how to make this. Pretty sweet and easy too!

{Supplies Used}
Inks: Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana
Papers: Fresh Prints Designer Paper, Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Extras: Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Twine, Circle Punches, Scallop Circle Punch

Baby Blog Hop for Jinny!

Saturday! Hooray! I am happy to get my craft on this weekend but I also have big plans to walk and to purge my craftroom and closet! I have been meaning to purge all week but the days are just not long enough and my weekly walk is cutting into my purging plans. I am, however, purging pounds and have now lost 11lbs! Woot!

Today I am thrilled to be a part of a special blog hop for Jinny! She has just had a baby boy and so the Paper Sweeties gals are throwing her a special baby hop!

Come and follow the hop to see what the other designers made for Jinny!

Lesley Croghan <<< you are here!
Congratulations, Jinny! I am so happy for you and your family! Wishing you all the best! Did you know that the Shabby Tearoom has a baby challenge on right now! Go play along! I am also submitting this to the Curtain Call Challenge: Cozy Quilt! I was inspired by the patterns; hence my paper and doily on the card and don't forget that warm, fuzzy felt flower. I am also playing with the great sketch at Clean & Simple Sketches. I LOVED the sketch and decided to flip it and use a circular image.

SRM Stickers & Paper Sweeties!

Today I am sharing a little tea bag holder and matching card combo I created using some SRM goodies!. I love how the small boxes fit tea bags perfectly! I gave this gift combo to a dear friend of mine who helps out in my classroom. I have gotten to know her over the years and she is such a lovely lady! She really enjoyed it too...

Fresh Squeezed Stamps {From Owl of Us}

Good morning! Today is a sad day as it is my final post as a designer for Fresh Squeezed Stamps! I enjoyed every moment of this experience...sincerely! Ryann and Shannon have to be the most organized ladies ever and it made the whole experience enjoyable and rewarding.

Today I am sharing a card I made with my absolute FAVOURITE stamp set called Hootie Who! My entire classroom is owl themed and so I was absolutely thrilled to receive this set! I can see myself using it a lot! I mixed it up with the pretty birthday sentiment from Everyday Expressions.

Here is a recap of all the projects I made for my term at Fresh Squeezed Stamps...
