There She Goes Challenge

I made this card for the "There She Goes Challenge" to use white, black and one other colour. I bought this penguin set by AI Clear to make a card for my mother-in-law. She just retired last week and so I am sending this card to her!!! Congrats Adnil!I have not been able to make cards as much lately as I think I made have pinched a nerve in my left lower back, at least that is how it feels!! It has been awful, not being able to stamp. I have been working on getting more mobile again...swimming and walking, that seems to be helping a lot. I hope to be stamping more soon...I really miss it!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Sweet Stamps and Colour Throwdown #44

This card was made for the parent drivers from my Grade 2/3 class. We have been doing swimming lessons for the past 6 weeks and these wonderful parents drove each time!! On the inside of the card it says "Many Thanks".This layout is from the Sweet Stamps Sketch Challenge and Colour Throwdown #44 using Bordering Blue, Barely Banana and Elegant Eggplant. I was at an out of town wedding on the weekend and so I did not have a chance to make any cards for the past week!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!!

Splashing By-(CAS) Colour Throwdown #44 & Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge

I am back!! I was off this weekend in Kelowna, at a wedding and have not had a chance to make a card all last week! Ack! I also have a bit of a sore back and hip, which makes sitting in the chair difficult.

This card was made for the Colour Throwdown #44 to use Bordering Blue, Elegant Eggplant and Barely Banana. The sketch is from the Sweet Stop Stamp Challenge. I got to use my new Pink Cat "Lily at the Beach stamps.

Thanks for stopping by. My hip is quite sore in this chair, so I am keeping this short and sweet. This card is a CAS card!!

Happy stamping!!

Colour Create (Week 16) and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday (FTTC16) (Add Project Tuesday!!!)

This card was made for two challenges; Colour Create and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday. Colour Create wanted us to make a card with the colours of Sky Blue, Tan and Ecru. The colours I had at home were Sahara Sand Paper, Vanilla Paper and Bashful Blue DSP and regular paper. I stamped the sentiment in a soft brown by Memento.
The card measures 5x10". The Flourishes challenge is to make a square card!
I added a little scallop edge under the middle panel to add some more femininity to the card. The ribbon is from Walmart but I just love it. It is soft blue and has such a pretty sheen to it.
**EDIT**
After I posted this, I was on Vickilyn's blog and saw the Stamps and Smiles Challenge to make a peek-a-boo treat holder. I was so inspired by Vickilyn's creation, I decided to try one myself!! What a FUN project!!! I decided to use the papers I already had out and to create a little matchy treat holder for my square Flourishes Colour Create Card!! Now I have a cute little set to give to a friend!!!
Thank you for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

This card was made for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #7 to use Pink, Green and Brown. I went to visit a friend today and spent about 3 hours travelling. I wasn't driving, so I did this sketch for myself. Stamptacular Sunday Challenges need to be done with only one challenge, so that meant I needed to come up with my own sketch!!

This is what I drew (please forgive the messiness of it!!) :)
Here is the card I created....My ideas for colour placement and such changed when I got down to making the card! I used a white base, with a white layer (which I used my swirls CB folder on). Then I adhered a 3x51/4" piece of chocolate paper to split up the front of the card. Then I cut a pink piece (1/8" smaller than the chocolate panel) and layered it. Then I stamped that pink piece with my Hero Arts French Script stamp in Close to Cocoa. Then I added the pink flower, added a button to the centre of it and some ferns from my fern punch. The ribbon was tied in a knot at the top of the card.

Penny Black Challenge and 2 Red Bananas Sketch Challenge

Oh boy!! I played two new card challenges today!! I have never played with the Penny Black Challenge or the 2 Red Bananas Blogs, it was so much fun!! Penny Black was a 321 recipe!! 3 flowers, 2 papers and 1 brad. I was inspired to play the 2 Red Banana's Sketch because of Silke's card!!
I used my Pink Cat Enchanted Lily stamp for the main image and used a Penny Black sentiment stamp. I need more Penny Black stamps!! The paper is Crate Paper, I bought it a while ago but didn't have the guts to use it...then I saw the flowers and decided to cut them out for the flower portion of the Penny Black Challenge. I also used my Martha fern punch again...I used some Basic Grey Periphey paper in Petit for the ferns.
The colour combo came from the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge to use Pink, Green and Brown. I just realized that they do not allow stampers to combine challenges!!! Oops! So back to the drawing board for that challenge!!
Hope you are enjoying your Long Weekend. I sure am!!

Lesley :)

Creative Card Crew Challenge- Still Sizzlin'

This card was made for the Creative Card Crew Challenge to go Minimal. This is the first card I have done on this challenge blog. I bought this stamp on Friday and just had the inspiration from this challenge to use it! I love this woman...and the saying is so fun!I used Celery, Amethyst and White as my main colours. Love that Saleabration Celery Ribbon! I stamped the sentiment right onto the card face...rather than in an oval or a tag.
The stamps are made by Art Impressions. These stamps were in the sale basket and I am so happy I got to snatch them up!! I also picked up an "old guy" stamp. I am going to use him lots for Father's Day!!
Happy Stamping!!
Smiles,
Lesley :)

Party Animals (SASSC15) & I(Heart)2Stamp

I needed some fun birhday cards and so did these up. Notice my love of farm animals? LOL!! Both stamps are from Pink Cat. I have a thing for cows. The pink card is a sketch for a week or so ago. It was from this challenge on the I(Heart)2Stamp Blog. The background was created with this background stamp I bought a year ago and never used. I thought it looked like the markings of a jersey cow!!
The turquoise card was inspired by the Stamps and Smiles Sketch on Thursday. I omitted the scalloped edge on this one. I love the sentiment from Stampendous...it is so versatile for me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Inspiration #52-Dream (CAS)

After seeing this colour combo last night, this is what I dreamed of. Somehow in my dream it looked SO much better! LOL!! This is really a different type of card for me to make...I am taking a risk here!!! This card was made for the Colour Inspiration Challenge #52 on the Kwerner Design Blog. I personally tried to challenge myself to not stamp on white. So I stamped on Sand Paper which was challenging for me. I used my SU! Markers and coloured the butterfly from the SU! Touch of Nature Set. I then huffed the stamp and tried to stamp it off three times. I then added some soft, candlelight shimmerz to my butterflies...to make them shine.

The card measures 5x5 and I embossed the word "Dream" with my white EB powder and heat gun.

Thanks for looking.

Lesley :)

CPS Card Sketch #116 & Dawn McVey's Colour Challenge

This card was made for the CPS Card Sketch #116 and for Dawn McVey's Colour Challenge to use light aqua, chocolate, coral pink and white. The image is from Penny Black and coloured with Copics. The saying is Penny Black too. I was tempted to cuttlebug the aqua panel but decided to leave it clean and crisp. It was hard not to cuttle!! LOL!

I am so excited about the ribbon!! It is from Walmart and I have had it for almost a year. I think I have used it on one card! How tragic is that? SO I decided to try a new ribbon technique and punched a little slit at the base of the aqua to feed the ribbon through. Then I tied another piece of ribbon around that little sticky out part and tied a knot. Everything is popped up and out!

I love these little mice!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Lesley :)

SFYTT & OCC-All You Need Is Love

I made this card for this week's SFYTT Challenge and the OCC Colour Challenge to use Celery, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue and a neutral. I wanted this to be a white, pretty card. At first I had "A Little Birdie Told Me" as my stamp set but then I remembered this lone cake stamp and realized I liked the simplicity of it. I paper pieced some Bashful Blue DSP onto it. The flowers are from Double Line Doodles and the fern is once again my Martha punch. I love that punch!! I decided to just stamp the saying going across the little belly band. The background is cuttlebugged with the swirls folder.
I cut out some flowers from the Double Line Doodles set, coloured each flower with my SU! Markers. Thank goodness I have markers as I do not have Regal Rose or Bashful Blue ink!!

Thanks for stopping by!!
Happy Stamping!

Sketch Saturday #51-Enchanted Lily

This card was made for Sketch Saturday #51. I was inspired by all the beautiful designer papers in the sample cards and dug this paper out of my stash! It is Bloom and Grow from My Mind's Eye. I decided to use a Lily stamp from Pink Cat. I had not used a Lily in a while, so it was fun to colour!! The orange base of the card is Pumpkin Pie from SU! and the green is a thin cardstock that came from a pack I bought. I NEVER use this green but it seemed to work with the DSP!! Yippee! Also, because it is thin, I could use my Martha Stewart Lace Border Punch.

The flowers are from my cricut, Basic George and then I added the brads to the centre. Then I smooshed the brads and the flowers in my cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder. I added Glossy Accents to her wings and to each flower, you can't tell in the picture but she is glowing!! I found the green polka-dotted ribbon in a sale bin and a little store. I couldn't believe it matched the green paper! LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!! This is the most involved card I think I have EVER made!!! It was a stretch for me and I enjoyed it!!
Smiles,
Lesley :)

TECC68-Friendship

This card is for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #68. I made this card for a friend I will be visiting this weekend. The image was stamped in gold ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Then I added some little fern accents with my Martha Stewart punch. The image is Magenta, I just bought it tonight from my fav stamping store!! The sentiment is Penny Black and I just couldn't resist the words...

I flipped the card sketch and could not use my corner rounder...it was driving me nutso!! It kept getting jammed. I think this black paper is too thick!! Other thinner papers work fine. I have a Martha Stewart lace border punch but this black paper is too think as well!!

The octagon shape is from my cricut cartridge, Basic George. I wanted to try something different!

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment, so I can visit your blog.

Smiles,
Lesley :)

WSC81-Thinking of You (For Leah)

This card was made for the WSC81 Sketch Challenge. I made it for a friend who passed away this week. I am in shock, even though she had been unwell for a while. We had worked together for a few summers in Dawson City, YT. Although we did not keep in touch, her passing was devasting to me. She was in her thirties; young and vibrant. She was a beautiful dancer and I enjoyed performing on stage with her. I am hoping to send this to her family, to let them know the effect she made in my life.Thank you for stopping by. Remember to live each day to the fullest; laugh, love and make each day, the best day!

Paper Pretties Challenge

This is a card I made for the Paper Pretties Challenge. The challenge was to use White on White. I had some photo paper and decided to use that. I stamped the image in Staz On and used a black satin ribbon to accent the sheen of the paper. This card measures 5"x10".

Thanks for looking!

Lesley

Colour Throwdown #42 & Stamps and Smiles SASSC15

This card was made for the Stamps and Smiles Sketch Challenge and for the Colour Throwdown Challenge.
Each flower is cutout and popped up on dimensionals. I love using this SU! Set called Double Line Doodles just for this flower! The leaves and stems were cut out on Turquiose paper as well and popped up. The DSP is from the Saleabration special and the sentiment is from Kind Thanks, another SU! set.

I stamped another flower on the inside to complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by...

SCS-Sketch Challenge 228 (Playing with Bold Brights!)

I know...weird colour combo? This combo has been in my head ALL night!! LOL!This is my new stamp from Stampendous...it is a cling stamp...I am really getting into their cling stamps...half the price and easy to use!! I coloured my little ballerina with Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Creamy Caramel (All SU! Markers). I highlighted her with my warm copic grey marker. This ribbon is from Michael's...it is a sheer turquoise and became purple when I layered it over the pink card base. So I used a sheer white ribbon underneath it to help with the colour. I tried to tie a nice bow.
I did the same Penny Black sentiment again...I LOVE it!! It can go with so many stamps!!! Especially the cute ones.

Thank you for stopping by!!!

Smiles,
Lesley :)

CC218: Only Summer Kisses (SCS)

Here is my submission for this week's colour challenge on SCS. I wanted to make something springy. I used the Pretty Petals Set from SU! and coloured the images with Celery, Only Orange and Summer Sun SU! Markers. I added last year's Sale-A-bration Celery ribbon to the top of the card and did a double knot for the bow. The tag is attached with dimensionals as is the whole front panel. I don't think I have ever popped up the whole front panel before!!

The card measures 5"x10".
Thanks for stopping by!! Please leave a comment so I can come and visit your blog or gallery.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge

This week at Flourishes, the challenge is to make a birthday card. I decided I wanted to make a man card and had the layout in mind. As I got going, the card change into this. Could I give this card to a man?

I used my SU! markers in Blush Blossom, Not Quite Navy and Basic Black to colour this. I think highlight the entire image with my warm grey copic marker.
The card is 5"x10", I used the Penny Black stamp called "The Sensations" and my new Stampendous sentiment, "Kick up Yer Heels". I was so thrilled when I found that sentiment...I love this Penny Black stamp and had been looking for the perfect sentiment for it. I do not own any Flourishes stamps yet!!! Keep yer fingers crossed!!!! LOL!Thanks for looking.

Smiles,
Lesley :)
